About the role


Be part of this 'once in a generation' project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke.

We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.


What you'll be doing


The purpose of the role; to safely manage and deliver multiple portions/disciplines of construction to programme within budget and cost/financial control . The candidate will have a Heavy Civils based background which to include Major Earthworks Cut & Fill operations, Stockpile management, Platform installation for Piling/ Cranage/Sheet Piling works, infrastructure installation, Heavy Duty FRC slabs experience, Drainage and water management all carried out in a live dynamic work environment. Manage interfaces with other Major Elements of the project.

You will also have to provide and demonstrate Safe delivery operational management experience through strong leadership and be capable of controlling a multi-disciplined team in multiple areas with the larger site area, Strong leadership which will develop, mentor and guide junior members of the team through experience and Knowledge. Also demonstrate a can-do attitude and be able to communicate efficiently internally within the CWA Environment, and externally with the larger client team.
Who we're looking for


Essential

Capable of taking ownership of the works or a section of the works from start to finish, including the handover of the works
Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes
Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card
SMSTS
Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience of managing the works of direct labour and subcontractors


Desired:

Experience working within environmental protected sites
Experience in one of more of the following disciplines: ground improvement techniques, earthworks, drainage, structures
