Job overview




We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Band 3 Senior General Service Assistant for a 3-month Fixed Term/Secondment Contract. This role will require the post holder to be committed to support us in maintaining and improving our standards. You will need to work flexibly (including some weekends) in order to meet Service needs and work well as part of a team.



This post would suit a person with a mature, common-sense approach, who can work well within a team.


The Senior General Service Assistant post is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week, which includes some weekends.


Duties will include managing work rosters and ensuring there are sufficient staff on duty to maintain services, supervision of day-to-day tasks to ensure all necessary tasks have been undertaken, ordering stock which will include catering supplies, maintaining cleanliness, supporting with audit completion, preparation and serving of food.




Main duties of the job




The purpose of the post is:


To assist the Clinical Matron, Ward Managers and Business Support Supervisor, but not take overall responsibility for providing a full range of hotel services within the hospital. The postholder will work under the supervision of the BSM, To monitor, audit and report standards within the Hotel Services remit To support GSA's and act as their role model

Key Dimensions of the post are: 3 inpatient wards, Outpatient services, offices
