What You'll Do



As a Senior Generator Engineer, you'll be trusted to deliver high-level technical support, problem-solving, and project leadership across a range of customer sites. Some key tasks include:

Carry out complex control panel builds, installations, upgrades, and controller programming (typically DSE or ComAp) Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on diesel generators Lead and support installation and commissioning of both temporary and permanent generator sets Conduct load bank and fuel testing, and perform fuel polishing Carry out site surveys and inspections to ensure compliance and performance Provide technical guidance to the Sales and Servicing teams for upgrade or remedial recommendations Mentor apprentices and support engineers, sharing expertise and setting quality standards Support PPM and remedial works when required Participate in the callout rota for out-of-hours customer support

Where You'll Work



This role is based out of our Fareham HQ, where you'll return for stock, workshop-based work, and team coordination.

You'll work mainly at customer sites across Hampshire and the South Coast, with occasional projects further afield.

Applicants must therefore live within a commutable distance to Fareham - this is not a remote or regionally based position.

What You'll Bring



Level 3 qualification or recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Demonstrable experience as a diesel generator engineer, including fault-finding and commissioning on customer-owned equipment 18th Edition (BS7671) certification required Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain police vetting is essential ECS/CSCS card preferred Experience with UPS systems or HV equipment advantageous
