Soiltechnics is a leading UK geotechnical and geoenvironmental consultancy, recognised for delivering high quality, practical and commercially focused ground investigation and assessment services. Our team works across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure and energy. We are looking for a motivated and capable Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer to join our GI South team, based in our head office located between Northampton and Kettering. You will contribute to the delivery of ground investigation projects in the Midlands, London and across the UK.


About the Role


As a Senior Geoenvironmental Engineer, you will play a key part in the management, design and delivery of ground investigations, contaminated land assessments and geotechnical site appraisals. With the support of your team leader, you will lead projects with minimal supervision, mentor junior staff, and maintain strong client relationships. Work is typically split around 50% sitework (field investigations) and 50% office tasks such as reporting, analysis and project management. This role offers progression, technical development, and the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects.


Key Responsibilities

Manage geoenvironmental and geotechnical site investigations from planning to final reporting. Prepare and review Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Investigation Reports and detailed interpretive assessments. Provide clear technical guidance on contaminated land, ground gas, waste classification and foundation recommendations. Supervise and support site activities, ensuring high-quality data collection and compliance with H&S standards. Manage project budgets, timelines and deliverables. Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians. Liaise confidently with clients, regulators and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that all work adheres to relevant standards (e.g., BS5930, BS10175, CIRIA guidance).

What is required?

Full UK Driving License Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in site investigation design, implementation and supervision Reporting and data interpretation skills BSc (2:1 minimum) in Geology, Environmental Science, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Science, Geography or related discipline Familiarity with environmental software advantageous
