Senior Health And Safety Advisor

Tewkesbury, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

At Bromford, we believe health and safety is more than just compliance, it's a critical enabler of everything we do. Whether protecting our colleagues, ensuring the wellbeing of our customers, or supporting safe, sustainable operations, safety underpins our success.

We're part of Bromford Flagship. Our purpose is clear: enable everyone to thrive. Our vision is that everyone has a safe, affordable home, and with over 80,000 homes across east, central, and southwest England, we have the scale, expertise, and commitment to keep building for the future.

We're looking for a passionate and experienced senior health and safety advisor to join our team and help create a workplace where safety is prioritised without becoming a barrier to progress.

Working in a small team, you'll be the primary point of contact for all health and safety matters in our customer experience teams, supporting both housing management and inhouse repairs and maintenance teams. You'll partner with leaders at every level, embedding safe practices and a strong safety culture into everyday operations. Alongside other health and safety advisors, you'll maintain and enhance our safety framework, identify opportunities for improvement through performance reporting, and deliver on both day-to-day and long-term objectives. You'll also coach and empower colleagues to build confidence and capability in managing their own health and safety responsibilities.

We're looking for someone who is as strategic as they are hands-on -- able to balance regulatory compliance with the practical realities of a fast-moving housing organisation. You'll be confident with data, able to translate legal and technical requirements into clear, actionable insights, and thrive on building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. Your expertise will support our commitment to maintaining our 5-star British Safety Council best practice accreditation and driving continuous improvement in safety standards.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 30 September 2026. You'll have flexibility in where you work, with the option to use our offices in Chipping Sodbury, Tewkesbury, or Wolverhampton, alongside regular home working. The role also involves regular travel across our wider operating area.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Extensive experience in a similar health and safety role A NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent) IOSH membership with evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) ISO45001 lead auditor qualification (desirable) Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation Excellent communication and influencing skills A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across our operational areas Ability to complete a basic DBS check

The closing date is 12 October, with interviews taking place on 17 October.

If you're ready to make a meaningful impact and join a team that puts people and purpose first, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now and help shape a safer, more confident future at Bromford.
