Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor
junior Healthcare Assistants, offering guidance, support, and on-the-job training.
Oversee and assist
with all aspects of resident personal care, including bathing, dressing, mobility, continence management, and feeding, always upholding dignity and promoting independence.
Accurately administer medication
in accordance with care plans, training, and policy, meticulously documenting all actions.
Monitor residents' health status
closely, observing and reporting any changes in physical or mental condition to the Nurse in Charge or senior staff promptly.
Develop and implement care plans
in collaboration with the nursing team, ensuring they are person-centred and regularly reviewed.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive care records
, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
Respond effectively to emergencies
, escalating issues appropriately and taking immediate action to ensure resident safety.
Facilitate engaging activities
and promote social interaction to enhance residents' quality of life.
Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures
, including safeguarding, infection control, and health and safety standards.
Communicate effectively
with residents, their families, visitors, and multidisciplinary team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience
as a Healthcare Assistant, with significant experience (e.g., 2+ years) in a care home or similar healthcare setting.
Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role
is highly advantageous.
Relevant care qualifications
(e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent) are essential.
A
