Senior Health Care Assistant



Challenging, varied and rewarding role as a Senior Health Care Worker. You will be working alongside other like minded people and the Registered Manager to provide the best service for people over 60 in residential care. Being involved in all aspects of the resident's care including daily life and activity, assessments, key working, reviews and development; you will be a key person and part of making the service a success.

Occasionally taking the lead on shifts, this role also requires the care and support of other staff as they develop building a great place to work and live.

Contracted hours with overtime, the shifts run day and afternoon shifts between 8 am & 9 pm across 7 days a week 365 days a year,

you will be given set shifts on a rolling rota

. This role can vary from quiet periods to busy and demanding times. From simple acts such as helping residents enjoy their life with company and a cup of tea, to dealing with incidents, health issues and end of life care. Your previous experience will be valued, and also you will be given further training and development.

As a Senior Health Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily needs of individuals in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

Working with outside professionals including GP contact and ward rounds Administering medication and booking in/out of medication Key working and reviews with residents/family Assist the manager with routine tasks such as mattress checks, resident surveys Follow care plans and risk assessments Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues. Provide personal care to residents Provide emotional support to residents Engage with stimulating activities with the residents (group or one to one) Support residents in maintaining their independence and dignity. Assist with health support with the residents - refer to health professionals and colleagues as needed Basic kitchen support and minimal food preparation Serving food and drink for residents - Support residents around food, drinks and snacks as part of the home's routines and any additional requests from residents (24/7) Complete laundry and basic housekeeping duties as needed Administering medication Recording the care provided accurately on the digital care system or other paperwork. To engage in all training and professional development Engage in routine supervisions and appraisals with management/seniors To follow all reasonable management requests including from senior staff Follow all policies and procedures and report any and all concerns or issues including safeguarding Take personal responsibility and reasonable steps to ensure the health and safety of self and all other people. Take personal responsibility and reasonable steps to ensure infection prevention and control Assist the team to cover share of shifts (holiday and sickness)

Requirements



Minimum of

2 years' experience

within a single residential care service Achieved a

Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care or higher

Professional manner Calm under pressure Supportive and able to prioritise who requires support Ability to multitask

Requirements



Would be required to possess extensive skills and 3 years or more relevant experience within a similar work environment in a supervisory capacity. Possessing at least

Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care

and be conversant with the current Health & Safety regulations Professional manner Calm under pressure Supportive and able to prioritise who requires support Ability to multitask
We are hiring for two candidates one role is

22.25

hours per week and one is

24.75

hours per week.
