Job Description

We are looking for a welcoming, conscientious and hard working Senior Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Harnham Croft Care Home, a warm and welcoming home where everyone matters. Our enthusiastic and friendly team provides care for 38 residents in a warm and welcoming Home.

The Home is located close to the centre of the historic cathedral city of Salisbury. It offers lovely views from the rear over the River Avon and water meadows towards the city centre. The home has an excellent reputation, is well rated and genuinely takes care of its staff.

We are looking for staff to cover night shifts (from 8 to 8). The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, have a good level of knowledge and demonstrable experience in caring for elderly people, can lead a team and have good communication skills.

As a Senior Health Care Assistant you will support the running of the shift, administer medications to the residents and have the responsibility together with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the safety and dignity of the individual and promotes independence.

You will promote high standards of care by ensuring shifts are run in a smooth and efficient manner and all staff are supervised appropriately. Furthermore, you will assist the nurses in reviewing and updating care plans to meet our clients changing physical, social and psychological needs, and will communicate professionally and warmly with visitors and family, and other health care professionals.
