St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey, Surrey is recruiting for a Senior Health Care Support Worker on the inpatient Paediatric Ward.
The post is full time and shifts include long days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate health care support workers to join our team who will be committed to the delivery of high quality care. You will need to have a mature approach to your work and have the ability to communicate and work effectively with children of all ages and their families. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team to provide support to the children and families, ideally you will have previous experience working with children and /or previous experience in a health care setting.
Candidates applying for this post must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
Level 3 qualification such as A levels, BTEC or NVQ
Experience working with children
Successful candidates must also have good communication skills, competent IT skills, and have a kind and caring nature.
The Trust offers training, including a three-week induction programme and further development opportunities. If you haven't already completed the Care Certificate you will be required to achieve this within the first six months with training and support

Our Healthcare Support Workers are at the heart of providing direct patient centred care, supporting the Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates as well as the wider Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding, where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of our patients. The role includes:
Providing direct patient care including meeting hygiene, continence, nutrition, pressure area care and mobility needs
Taking and recording patients' vital signs, identifying and escalating changes to a patient's condition
Providing one to one observation for patients who present a high risk of harm and vulnerable patients
Escorting patients to different departments such as x-ray
Keep the department and equipment clean, tidy, and restocking equipment
Training and supporting new and junior team members
