Senior HIL Engineer

to be based at our office in Warwick, UK.


Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.


ROLE SUMMARY



Plays pivotal role for managing HV HIL which has all the HV and LV ECUs in a test cell.


Candidate must be hungry for success with a keen eye for detail and quality. Ability to take criticism and challenge with facts and evidence to ensure there is no ambiguity that communications are clear and timely and through the relevant channels. Reporting must be concise and to the point. Planning and execution of those fully tracked and reported.


AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY



Develop the HIL testing capability for the production software and calibration group. Design plant models and communication interfaces to allow detailed closed-loop testing of control ECU's. Specify the hardware and communication interfaces to control ECU's and support the build of custom wiring. Develop the HIL capability to support automatic regression testing of functions and diagnostics. Support and champion software testing best practice. Compilation and Verification of BoM for HIL Simulator and Lab Car. Design and Build ABS Wet Bench, Steering Rack and Chassis/Kinetics Rack for HIL setup Full Vehicle HIL Electrical Integration and assembly. Provide rapid root cause failure analysis solutions to the business Work efficiently to help deliver the best solution possible to the customer. Responsible for specifying, developing and maintaining the HIL test systems used to validate production embedded software related to high performance hybrid drive system control units. Delivery of software test results to Engineering and Support development of test requirements with system engineers Working together with the other HIL engineers to align processes and development efficiency, to ensure on time software delivery Responsible for test execution (automated and manual) using Hardware In the Loop test environment. Testing Assisted and Automated Driving on Component (Sensors & ECUs) and System Level. Developing scenarios for test cases for the HIL environment. Work close with the HIL Test Automation team to enable HIL Test automation. Work close with the System Test team to ensure high quality testing. Working close with the Test Coordination team to ensure test plan and strategy execution.

KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE



HV HIL knowledge (Having JLR Background is beneficial) Testing and Methodology - knowledge on GIT Hub, JIRA dSPACE and Power electronics knowledge On-Time Project deliveries and management Software Knowledge: Wrike, Lucid Experience in developing and maintaining MIL, HIL, system verification test cases and test infrastructure Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Vector tools etc. other popular automotive tools Experience in building and using HIL test setups (dSpace and relevant tools), system level test benches and CAN / LIN / Automotive Ethernet network verification tools (e.g. CANoe, CANalyzer etc.) Expert knowledge in test automation and scripting languages and tools (MATLAB, Python, Jenkins, ECU-Test, AutomationDesk or similar) dSPACE Certified Engineer in FPGA and E-Drive application. Experience in plant modeling (Electrical Motors, High Voltage Battery Systems, Vehicle Dynamics and Thermal System) - you deeply understand mechanical and electrical systems Sound understand of functional safety standards and testing principles Expertise in MATLAB Simulink ,simscape , stateflow , M scripting Expertise in Test Automation using Python Good understanding of system/software testing and methodologies. Good understanding of vehicle network communication technologies. Experience in requirement-based testing / design verification / validation. Interest in new and innovative technologies. High level of proactivity and independency Good English language skills. Experience with Vector tools (CANalyser, CANoe) Experience with National Instruments, dSpace or Carmaker IPG Experience in scripting languages Experience in C, C++, C# or python ISTQB foundation level training and certification. Experience in Agile working methodology.
