Purpose of This Role
To Assist the Hospitality Manager in the effective and smooth running of the Event Operations team to ensure all events are run to the agreed standards by ensuring appropriate staffing levels, stock and equipment are correct.
Assist in compliance with all current food hygiene, health and safety/COSHH requirements. Ensuring high standards of catering products and customer service are consistently delivered; assist in the delivery of a cost effective and profitable department.
To take a hands-on role with staff training and development ensuring appropriate training records are kept and updated when necessary.
Hours

You will work any 5 days out of 7 each week.
Your shifts will vary each week to meet the demands of the business.
The earliest start would be 6.30am for a dayshift.
The latest finish would be 3am, this would mainly during the Christmas party season & a small number of times throughout the year.
Weekend and evening work will be required.
Duties
To ensure all events run smoothly in line with company standards and client requirements detailed on event orders.
Ensure all clients are met on arrival by the corporate supervisor in charge & the event orders for their event are up to date and correct.
To ensure the back of house areas are kept clean and tidy and the bars are regularly cleaned.
Regularly check your emails for updates and make any appropriate changes.
Undertaking training of event operations team & administering associated documentation.
Assisting with ordering stock & event related items - such as equipment, staff & linen.
Attend Sales ops meeting and any other relevant meetings when required.
Assist with the creation of the team's rota on a weekly basis and ensuring staffing costs are in line with agreed budget.
Liaising with Security to ensure sign in sheets are in place prior to agency staff entering the building & time sheets are sent to the appropriate agencies.
Organising setup, running of events, staff briefing, de-rig of events and client feedback forms are completed via the event operations team.
Monitoring the liquor stock areas, ensuring the control and cleanliness of these areas ready for stock take each month.
Developing & maintain communication within the team and all other departments involved in delivering the smooth running of corporate product.
Assist with food hygiene, health & safety/COSHH procedures relating to the department are maintained and all relevant paperwork is completed and filed accordingly.
Complying strictly with all legal requirements regarding liquor licensing.
Ensuring all standards are maintained & improvements are made when appropriate - including event setup, service during events, food displays and equipment used.
Creating a close working relationship with the team to ensure open productive lines of communications are in place.
Ensure all event operations staff are aware of cash handling/credit procedures.
Ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed after each event - including Duty Manager Report, Consumption Reports, Agency Time Sheets & any handover issues for the Event Operations Management team.
Taking on the role of Day time Duty Manage/Assistant Duty Manager when required.
Deputising for the Hospitality Manager in their absence.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their Head of Department which may be necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Qualifications/Experience
Minimum 1 years' experience in a supervisor role
Must be proactive and be able to hit the ground running.
Must be an excellent communicator.
Good time management skills are a must.
Must have the ability to work unsupervised.
Computer skills are essential.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Must have the ability to build and maintain good relationships and rapport with all clients.
Food hygiene certificate along with a completed Alcohol Awareness course would be advantageous.
