My client is a growing construction material manufacturer, delivering high quality products for merchants and installers. They are looking for someone ambitious and motivated to come in and take responsibility for their HR function. You will be a pivotal part of the business assisting with the smooth running of operations, ensuring employee related legal compliance at all times.

  • \xc2\xa330,000 \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa338,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities
  • The HR Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities and will be responsible for all HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, induction, employee relations, training, development, talent management and terminations.
  • They will assist with all internal and external HR related queries and offer advice when necessary.
  • Manage the Time and Attendance system by actioning new starter and leaver information, administering clock cards, work rules & shift patterns to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
  • They are responsible for the employee\xe2\x80\x99s personnel and training records.
  • Administer the absence process. Logging absence calls, tracking return to work interviews, monitoring triggers and trends, assisting with conducting absence review meetings.
  • Manage the recruitment process. Assist with adverts, identify candidates, pre-screening interviews, arrange interviews, perform reference and right to work checks, issue employment contracts and conduct new starter inductions.
  • Manage temporary labour by liaising with departmental managers and recruitment agencies.
  • This role supports the businesses with employee relations issues. Assisting with meetings regarding absences, conduct, performance, disciplinary and grievances, take minutes and administer the process.
  • They administer and develop the assessment of training and skills needs, drive and monitor training programmes which supports improved performance, monitor and coordinate external training and book courses
  • The HR Generalist champions wellbeing and employee engagement activities.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
  • CIPD Level 5 is desirable but requires a minimum of CIPD Level 3 qualification or QBE.
  • Minimum of three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working as a Generalist in a manufacturing organisation.
  • Excellent HR administration and people management skills.
  • Full understanding of HR functions, legislation and best practice.
  • Exposure to payroll practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in Office IT applications.
  • Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Personable and passionate.
  • Must be able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced and varied environment.
  • Be flexible with a hands-on approach to support the multi-site, multi shift organisation.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be able to travel to two other sites on occasions.
