Role Overview:
The Senior HR Advisor plays a key role in supporting the delivery of effective HR services across the organisation. This position is responsible for providing expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and HR policy implementation. Acting as a trusted partner to managers, the Senior HR Advisor ensures HR practices are aligned with business goals while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
Role Responsibilities:
General HR Administration:
Maintain and update employee records in PeopleHR, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Manage the shared HR inbox, triage queries, and log actions in the HR Tracker.
Action employment offer letters, contracts, and benefit forms using standard templates, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Upload documents to People HR (HRIS) and SharePoint, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Support audit preparation and ensure documentation is up to date and accessible.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
Prepare offer letters, contracts, welcome packs, and coordinate IT setup for new starters.
Conduct background/reference checks and manage induction scheduling.
Maintain the New Starter Log and Leavers Checklist.
Process leaver documentation, conduct exit interviews, and ensure timely offboarding.
Monitor probation periods and ensure timely reviews and documentation
Data & Systems Management:
Ensure timely updates to PeopleHR for starters, changes, and leavers.
Support payroll accuracy by checking data ahead of submission deadlines.
Track sickness, absences, and welfare meetings.
Administer Employee benefits and ensure leavers are removed from schemes promptly.
Generate and analyse HR metrics to support strategic decision making.
Employee Relations & Support:
Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries and escalate complex issues as needed.
Assist with informal and formal employee relations cases, including notetaking and documentation
Support line managers with promotions, pay rises, and employee concerns.
Help maintain a positive employee experience through consistent communication and support.
Office Management:
Liaise and collaborate with the Office Management team to support upkeep of the Colgate Office.
Manage weekly food shop and stationery replenishment.
Facilitate Health & Safety tasks and audits for the Colgate Office.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures.
Support the scheduling, tracking and delivery of internal HR training and development programmes.
Participate in or lead HR-related projects such as system upgrades, engagement surveys, or reward scheme reviews.

Proven experience in coaching managers and supporting change

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
CIPD Qualification or working towards it (desirable)
