We're looking for a trusted and strategic Senior HR Advisor within our HR team, where your
coaching will drive confident managers, and your consistency will shape a fairer workplace. This role will lead on complex ER cases, guide policy, and influence change and engagement across the site.
A Taste of What You Will Be Doing:
HR Operations & Partnership - Work closely with managers across shifts and days to provide proactive HR support. Use workforce data and trends to inform decisions on staffing, engagement, and development.
Manager Coaching & Development - Act as a trusted advisor to line managers, providing expert guidance on HR matters. Deliver structured training through the Front Line Leaders (FLL) programme to promote consistent and fair HR practices.
Employee Relations Case Management - Lead and manage complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence. Coach managers through processes, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
Policy & Compliance - Ensure consistent application of HR policies in line with legislation and union agreements. Support managers in interpreting policies and drive continuous improvement in documentation and implementation.
Workforce Planning & Resourcing - Support recruitment, succession planning, and talent management. Ensure alignment with business needs and compliance with union frameworks.
HR Projects & Continuous Improvement - Lead and contribute to HR initiatives including absence reduction, engagement programmes, ED&I, and policy reviews. Generate HR reports and KPIs to support decision-making and improvement.
We're Looking for Someone With:
Formal HR qualification (eg CIPD) and degree qualified in related field
Experience of working within HR in a unionized, manufacturing environment
Knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation - In depth understanding of HR policies, procedures, and relevant UK employment law
Resilience and confidence - Remains calm and decisive under pressure, particularly when managing complex employee relations or union interactions.
Effective communication - Communicates clearly and confidently across all levels of the organisation, tailoring messages to suit different audiences.
Influencing ability - Builds credibility with managers and stakeholders, guiding them to make fair and consistent people decisions.
