What will the role involve?
HR Advice
Provide expert advice on day to day and complex employee relations issues (performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, redundancies, restructures, TUPE)
Interpret and apply UK employment law to ensure compliance and minimise risk
Develop and review HR strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to client needs
Partner with senior leadership teams to align HR practices with business objectives
Case Management
Lead complex HR investigations (e.g. discrimination, harassment, misconduct, SOSR)
Conduct capability, disciplinary and grievance hearings as an independent advisor/chair
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations for clients
Go to HR expert for organisations
Change & Organisational Development
Support restructuring and redundancy programmes
Facilitate organisational development initiatives such as performance management frameworks, talent management, and succession planning
Client Management & Leadership
Act as primary HR contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service deliver
Manage relationships with client leadership teams and stakeholders
Mentor and support junior consultants and associates as appropriate
Provide coaching and training to managers on HR best practices
HR Project Work
Lead on HR projects such as policy overhauls, employee engagement strategies, or HR system implementation
Design and deliver training sessions and workshops on HR topics.
Business Development
Contribute to proposal writing, pitching, and winning new client work.
Identify opportunities to broaden services with existing clients.
Represent the consultancy at networking events and professional forums.
What we are looking for:
Substantial experience in key managing and leading on HR processes
Confidence to operate in a fee earning environment where client billing for time spent is a necessity.
Ability to manage multiple ER and HR workstreams in a high pace environment
Expert experience of advising, managing and bringing to a successful conclusion complex and contentious ER casework including discipline, grievance, capability and harassment
Ability to engender trust and confidence in the advice you deliver
Demonstrable experience of working as a trusted advisor to key organisational stakeholders
Ability to generate and follow up business development leads, seeing them through to pitch presentations and ultimately deliver new business for the organisation
Ability to work collaboratively to review, develop and implement effective human resources policies and procedures
Ability to organise work effectively
Business development and client management experience
Exceptional IT skills?across Microsoft Office suite
CIPD Level 7 or equivalent years' experience
