We are looking for a capable, confident Senior HR Generalist to provide proactive day-to-day HR operations across all UK sites, supporting around 250 colleagues. This is a varied and high-impact role that blends operational HR delivery with proactive development, training and strategic project input.

The Role



As Senior HR Generalist, you will:

Lead UK-wide ER casework, from absence and conduct to grievances and performance, providing expert guidance and coaching to managers and escalating high-risk cases where needed. Partner with hiring managers to define requirements, create job descriptions, lead interviews, and advise on compliant, structured recruitment decisions. Oversee onboarding and probation reviews, ensuring new hires receive the right support and that interventions are timely and effective. Design and deliver HR training to build line manager capability in areas such as absence, conduct, probation, and performance management. Champion our UK Apprenticeship Programme, working closely with internal stakeholders and external training providers. Support with training records compliance and audit readiness across all sites. Support succession and capability planning, integrating competency frameworks into performance conversations and team development. Ensure accuracy of HR data, including acting as payroll input backup and producing reports to inform business decisions. Lead the Employee Forum for Haydock and Letchworth and collaborate closely with H&S and managers on wellbeing and engagement. Support the HR Director in strategic projects, HR transformation, and driving forward a consistent, fair, and high-performing culture across Gentex Europe.

About You



5+ years' HR generalist experience, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or operational environments Strong employee relations capability, with confidence handling complex cases and supporting line managers Experience delivering HR-related training and coaching Hands-on recruitment experience from job design through to interview and selection Comfortable with HR systems and data reporting (e.g. HRIS, Excel) A team player, able to work across multiple sites with strong collaboration and communication skills CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) preferred Willingness to travel regularly between sites

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 55,000.00 per year
