Your Role, Your Impact
As a
Senior H&S Compliance Manager,
you will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance for a portfolio of buildings. To do this the Senior H&S Safety Compliance Manager will manage a team of H&S safety compliance managers and work closely with Safety Assurance Business Partners, Property Managers, Development Manager and Regional Managers, establish and maintain communications with all stakeholders (internal and external), form and maintain relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a team of H&S Compliance Managers providing line manager support and technical guidance as necessary.
Ensure that the GRA QA process is fit for purpose and provides clarity on which remedial actions have life safety priority.
Allocate work as required using a risk based Approach.
Quality assess GRA's against legislative requirements Note. life safety GRA topics, which typically include; electrical, legionella, gas, asbestos, physical environment condition, access egress travel routes, access equipment (Lifts and lifting).
Highlight key document gaps.
Liaise with GRA providers to ensure accuracy.
Produce safety plan including risk-based list of actions for operations.
Ensure Datastation is updated.
Update building safety managers to ensure engagement message is aligned.
Support operations and safety assurance business partners as required with higher level safety technical advice and guidance.
Support Senior H&S Management with external enforcement authority liaison.
Support due diligence/mobilisation.
Investigate Fire Safety incidents and provide higher level technical advice and guidance for prevention purposes.
Respond to health and safety emergencies providing higher level technical advice and guidance.
Provide regular reports as required on performance and learning opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in Health and Safety management.
Proven experience of reviewing complex General Risk Assessments.
Excellent knowledge and an understanding of health and safety regulations and requirements for compliance across the range of building related hazard topics.
Experience in leading teams of safety practitioners.
Hold industry relevant accreditations such as IOSH, IIRSM, CIOB, IWFM, RICS, TPI.
Be passionate about Health and Safety and ensuring that homes under our management are safe for residents.
Hold a full UK driving licence.
