Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
HVAC Commissioning Engineer
to join our team, working on new data hall construction sites across Europe. This role focuses on commissioning, testing, and optimizing HVAC systems, including
Test and Balance (TAB)
and
load testing
, to meet stringent design and performance standards in line with
BSRIA
and
CIBSE
guidelines. The position operates on 3-week rotations, requiring technical expertise, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Commission HVAC systems (e.g., air handling units, chillers, ducting, CHW systems) for data hall projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications,
BSRIA
, and
CIBSE
standards.
Perform
HVAC Test and Balance (TAB)
, including static and dynamic pressure readings, airflow measurements, and system performance tests to optimize cooling and ventilation for data centres.
Execute
load testing
to verify HVAC system performance under operational conditions, meeting data centre reliability requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning, collaborating with site teams, contractors, and clients.
Adhere to Safe Work Procedures (SPAs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and working-at-height permits, prioritizing safety on high-risk construction sites.
Prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation for system performance, TAB, and load testing, meeting
BSRIA
and
CIBSE
reporting requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and data centre operators to meet project deadlines.
Travel to data hall construction sites across the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, France, and Spain.
Requirements
Qualifications
: CSA (Commissioning Specialists Association) Grade 3 qualification or equivalent. Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
: Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC commissioning, specifically in
Test and Balance (TAB)
,
pipework flushing
or
load testing
for data centre or large-scale construction projects.
Skills
:
Expertise in
HVAC Test and Balance (TAB)

pipework flushing
, and
load testing
for data centre HVAC systems, in accordance with
BSRIA
(e.g., BG 49/2015) and
CIBSE
(e.g., Commissioning Code A) standards.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications for data centre HVAC systems.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Certifications
: Valid safety training certifications (e.g., ladder use, working at height) are highly desirable.
Mobility
: Willingness to travel and work across the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, France, and Spain on 3-week rotations.
Language
: Fluency in English;
