This is a hybrid role based near Bridgwater, with relocation support available if required. You'll take a leading role within a flagship energy programme, ensuring engineering compliance and construction readiness while guiding your future team with expertise and conviction.
Lead and manage engineers to deliver mechanical construction work packages
Collaborate with technical specialists and client teams to define clear project boundaries
Maintain and update construction documentation in line with project requirements
Drive timely delivery of documentation to enable safe construction activities
Promote and uphold a positive health, safety, and environmental culture
Ensure compliance with safety standards and licence conditions at all times
Coordinate surveying activities and access planning to support construction readiness
Support the implementation of digital tools and permitting systems
Qualifications
Essential Skills
Degree or recognised trade qualification in Mechanical or HVAC engineering
Experience delivering construction projects in regulated or complex industrial environments
Ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong understanding of construction documentation and control processes
Knowledge of regulatory compliance within safety-critical industries
Proven leadership experience in complex project environments

Desired Skills
Experience with digital tools for permitting and work management
Delivery of construction work packages on large-scale projects
Professional accreditation in project management, construction, or engineering
CCNSG Safety Passport and IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
Surveying and access coordination experience
Strong problem-solving mindset with adaptability in fast-changing environments
