Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our dynamic & growing ICT Services team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of server/client architecture and Windows system administration, Virtualisation technology (Hyper-V & VMware) with a strong focus on optimising performance and reliability.

This role involves a mix of managing build & migration projects for customers as well as day to day system administration & support for our customers and Atlas' own in-house Virtual machine platforms. The Senior Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our own and customers' infrastructure while providing technical leadership to junior engineers and collaborating with our networks and telecoms engineering teams.

Our Ideal Candidate



Essential



Degree or equivalent in an ICT or related area and current Microsoft 365 and VMware accreditations and experience of working with and configuring VMware, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, Intune, Entra & SharePoint

Minimum of 5 years proven experience of internal and customer facing field service, installation, configuration and maintenance of VMware, VMware clusters and Microsoft server-based solutions, Microsoft Office365 / Sharepoint & Migrations.

A proven ability in solution design and customer facing technical sales support and solution design.

Proven ability & experience of incident management and fault diagnosis and resolution with evidence of ability to investigate issues, analyse and present options for achieving resolution.

Demonstrable ability to successfully receive technical training subsequently and deploy the knowledge to best advantage.

Excellent people skills: including verbal/written communication, documentation, and presentation skills applicable in both internal and customer facing environment.

A demonstrable ability to manage whole project life cycle engagement.

Commercial awareness to accurately develop project timelines and costs.

Adaptability to provide solutions within a challenging environment.

Evidence of continuing personal professional development.

Ability to develop and maintain multidisciplinary skillsets.

Values the strength of teamwork in achieving objectives and seeks to maximise this but is initiative-taking and able to work independently when appropriate or as a lead project engineer.

Can work shift work if required and depending on the needs of the business and work outside normal working hours on a rota basis as required to support our customers.

Must be able to travel including having a full clean UK or NI or other accepted driving licence within Northern Ireland. A company vehicle may be supplied or arrangements agreed for the candidate to use their own vehicle.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Desirable



Build & Deployment experience of VMware and Microsoft based solutions.

Experience with VSAN, VEEAM, Microsoft Hyper-V, SAN's

Current VMware, Microsoft & VEEAM accreditations.

Role Overview:



To be responsible for the provision of day-to-day support of Atlas Communications NI Ltd ICT Services Infrastructure and Customers.

Responsibilities



Design, Implementation, Configuration, Support of Atlas ICT Infrastructure & Applications

Customer facing ICT solutions design and sales support.

Technical support desk & field support activities both internally and for our customers including Server / Desktop / Laptop infrastructure

Responsible for patching server and client side and implementation of company antivirus policy, backups, desktop management policies. - Both Atlas and Customers where applicable.

Installation, maintenance, internal training, and support of deployed solutions.

Responsibility for technical lead on ICT services product portfolio.

Responsible for the support of other Engineers were applicable

Long term - support development and expansion of Atlas ICT Team

Plan and co-ordinate effective training ensuring the customer has a sound understanding of the product and the benefits it can offer.

Complete the required documentation and reporting in respect of the installation, configuration and commissioning of solutions as required.

Ensure complete customer satisfaction in respect of all aspects of work conducted.

Ensure all customer issues are dealt with as quickly as is practicable and to report to your manager any issues that may arise from specific faults.

To be part of the out of-hour call out rota as required. Making yourself available to assist other Engineers where appropriate.

Ensure all relevant company procedures are followed as required.

Maintain a full clean current motor vehicle driving license to enable the effective discharging of your tasks.

Project Specification & Implementation



Collaborate with our sales teams and other engineering function to support specification of effective solutions for customers

Ensure all projects you have been assigned, are conducted effectively to achieve the agreed goals and targets.

Reporting & Quality Assurance



Ensure that all appropriate information is provided, recorded, and maintained as required.

Ensure all quality procedures are implemented, and the appropriate documentation is maintained as required.

Adhering to the policies and procedures within the Company Integrated Management specially ISO9001:2015 and ISO27001:2022.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 42,000.00-47,000.00 per year
