We are recruiting for a Senior Impact Evaluator within Propositions Group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment - English to manage a range of impact evaluation activities which provide evidence of the effectiveness of our products and programmes.

About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced educational researcher with strong quantitative and qualitative skills to join our Impact Evaluation team at Cambridge English. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how we measure, report, and communicate the impact of our programmes and products, contributing to meaningful change in the field of education and English language learning.
The role will be reporting to the Head of Impact Evaluation. The successful applicant will be required to carry out the following activities:
Manage and conduct impact evaluation projects and carry out a range of associated tasks.
Develop compelling, high-quality research proposals based on the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and adapt impact measurement tools to capture and analyse relevant data effectively.
Design sampling frameworks and data analysis plans to ensure robust and meaningful evaluations.
Identify lessons learned and provide actionable recommendations to improve products or programme delivery and outcomes.
Produce high-quality impact evaluation reports tailored to the needs of diverse stakeholders.
Build and maintain deep technical expertise in evaluation methodologies and reporting techniques, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Contribute to team initiatives and research priorities by supporting ongoing and new programmes of work and streamlining operational processes.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and develop effective working relationships.
Represent the organisation at thought leadership events, including presenting at high-profile conferences and contributing to discussions in the field of language learning, assessment and education.
About you
You will hold a PhD in education studies, social sciences, applied linguistics, language assessment or education measurement. Exceptional candidates with an MSc or MA in a relevant field will also be considered.
You will have a strong theoretical understanding and domain knowledge of education, including familiarity with areas such as bilingual education, education reform, language pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment and feedback, and teacher professional development.
You will be proficient in research design, including quasi-experimental and non-experimental approaches.
You will have knowledge and experience of applying evaluation methodologies, e.g. mixed methods, case studies, participatory and user-centred methods.
You will have experience in developing data collection instruments, e.g. surveys, focus groups and interviews, classroom observation protocols.
You will be experienced in analysing quantitative data, e.g. descriptive statistics, correlations, multiple regressions, ANOVA, hypothesis testing, cross-tabulations.
You will have a strong understanding of sampling approaches, strategies, and frameworks.
You will be skilled in using statistical software (e.g. R and SPSS) for analysis and reporting.
You will be experienced in analysing qualitative data and skilled in using qualitative analysis software (e.g. NVivo)
You will have excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills.
You will have the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple, accessible, and impactful manner, including writing reports for a range of stakeholders.
You will demonstrate self-awareness and confidence in managing professional relationships, both internally in the organisation and externally.
Ideally, you will have knowledge of one or more foreign languages.
