Senior Improvement Manager

London, United Kingdom

Job Description

About us:
The Senior Improvement Manager role sits within the Transformation Office Directorate. The Transformation Office supports the senior leadership of the university in effective strategy execution, delivering a complex set of transformation initiatives and driving sustainable improvements to our core business.
Drawing on various process improvement methodologies, you will improve our efficiency by identifying and eliminating the root causes of errors and wasted effort. You will engage, encourage and support colleagues across KCL to collaboratively develop and deliver solutions which deliver positive change for the KCL community (professional services staff, academics and students).
You will work on a few process improvement projects at any one time - using data and evidence to define the problem before facilitating a solution through consultation and collaboration with stakeholders and colleagues.
You will train and coach others to make use of these methodologies to maximum effect and contribute to building the organisational culture and capabilities needed for continuous improvement.
We support hybrid working with a current requirement to be on campus three days per week.
About the role:
You will be leading process improvement programmes and projects, providing technical and methodology advice and expertise. You will also be developing measures and dashboards to monitor progress and ensure benefits are realised. In addition, you will train others in continuous improvement methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma, Agile and other practices, tailoring them to the higher education environment.
As part of the role, you will mentor and coach staff from different areas on process improvement, ensuring consistent ways of working. You will deliver workshops and embed continuous improvement methodologies, while contributing to building a Continuous Improvement community to embed a CI mindset at KCL.
You will support Faculty and Functional leadership in continuous improvement development, prioritisation and delivery within their areas. Finally, you will support other Transformation Office priorities and responsibilities as required, acting as a champion for the function and its work and contributing to its development.
*This is a full time position (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About you:

  • Educated to Degree Level standard or equivalent relevant experience
