Role Overview
We are looking for a
Senior Infrastructure Server Engineer
to join our dedicated IT department. The key purpose of this role is to develop and maintain A2Dominions System Infrastructure, providing technical expertise across areas such as virtualisation, storage, cloud computing and other critical systems while maintaining a secure, recoverable environment. This role will also assist the Infrastructure Manager promoting best practice through the use of ITIL processes and developing long term solutions to benefit the Group. Support other IT Teams in response to incidents, changes, problems and requests to ensure timely resolution of queries.
Key responsibilities:
Provide expert technical support for the Group's IT infrastructure, communications systems and services
Continually review systems policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safeguard IT infrastructure and data
Manage security of infrastructure to ensure systems are patched and secure and adhere to Cyber Essentials Plus certification
Design, Manage and maintain the groups virtual and cloud platforms, including VMware, Windows environment, Azure Services and SAN solutions
Ensure all infrastructure and systems maintenance and upgrades are planned and completed following Change Management procedure with minimal disruption to business activities
Maintain accurate up-to date documentation of infrastructure configurations, diagrams and procedures
Monitor system utilisation, producing monthly uptime reports and agreed KPI's
Maintain and build relationships with 3rd party suppliers, contributing to regular service meetings
Delivery of Infrastructure related projects
Maintain IT departments disaster policy
Plan and execute disaster recover tests twice a year documenting all results and taking remedial action to rectify and major issues
Manage and maintain asset register of all IT equipment
Ensure group backups are completed and regularly tested to comply in line with the Group's disaster recovery plan
More about you
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A- C) Degree or Technical Qualification in Microsoft/VMware/Cisco Technologies
Minimum of ITIL Foundation certification
Proven experience working in an infrastructure role, supporting and implementing technologies, including; Microsoft Server and desktop operating systems; VMware virtualization, Exhange online, Teams, One Drive, Azure and SAN technologies
Experience of multi-site environments, and complex infrastructure architecture
Experience of implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans
