Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Scheduling Oversight
Begin each day by checking the installation schedule against completed factory jobs to confirm all pieces are ready for loading.
Oversee the Installation Logistics and Templator Logistics teams, ensuring workloads are balanced, resources are allocated correctly, and schedules remain achievable.
Ensure template and fit appointments are planned efficiently, giving field operators the time needed to complete jobs properly while avoiding wasted time or travel.
Optimise routing by pairing jobs geographically and making schedules efficient without compromising quality.
Monitor and ensure the
support inbox
is managed promptly and effectively.
Communication & Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact between project managers and the logistics team, ensuring all information (site details, access issues, customer requests) is clear before installation.
Escalate and resolve scheduling or resource conflicts with project managers quickly.
Keep fitters updated on project requirements and site-specific considerations, ensuring they have the information needed before leaving the factory.
Absence & Cover Planning
Coordinate holiday and absence schedules within the logistics team to ensure cover and prevent operational disruption.
Standardise logistics tasks so they are easily covered by cross-trained staff in case of holiday or sickness.
Step into logistics tasks personally as an
emergency backup only
, with the focus on maintaining resilience across the team.
Technical Support
Provide guidance to fitters and project managers when technical installation challenges arise.
Make the final call on whether work continues on site or materials need to return to the factory.
Support operations in assessing the complexity of bespoke or challenging installation requests.
Continuous Improvement
Identify inefficiencies in logistics planning and scheduling and propose improvements.
Apply Kaizen principles to improve installation workflows, reduce wasted travel, and improve team efficiency.
Ensure lessons learned from site challenges are documented and communicated.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in installation logistics, planning, or coordination within stone fabrication, construction, or a similar industry.
Strong technical knowledge of stone worktops and installation processes.
Excellent organisational skills with experience managing schedules and resources.
Confident communicator with the ability to liaise between project managers, logistics staff, and fitters.
Proactive problem solver, able to make decisions under time pressure.
Knowledge of continuous improvement methods (e.g., Kaizen) desirable.
