Division - Insurance
Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from 52,400 to 59,000 and London 57,700 to 64,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the Department working in one of our Portfolio Delivery teams. You'll play an integral role in delivering the supervisory strategy and workplan for our Life Insurance and Funeral Plan firms. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to reactive issues across the wider Department and Division.
What will you be doing?Identify and mitigate conduct and prudential risks in insurance firms and markets, escalating as and when appropriate Devising the content and leading meetings with firms' senior executives; overseeing firm actions and mitigation programmes Review information provided by firms and other external sources to draw out and present key information Use experience, knowledge and judgement to make risk-based decisions under supervision Responsible for ensuring that INTACT (the FCA's case handling system) is kept updated and provides a clear record of case and firm work plan history and progression Have strategies to progress cases in a varied caseload with changing priorities

You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team on high profile pieces of work that influence the behaviours of firms. You will have the opportunity to work on high profile cases, ensuring that the risk of harm to firms and consumers is reduced as much as possible.
Our team covers over 6000 firms across 6 portfolios, providing you with the opportunity to engage in communication with a variety of stakeholders and make a difference to ensure that consumer harm is minimised.

MinimumExperience of reviewing information and making judgements to decide the best way to deal with risks regarding insurance firms and markets Experience of the business models, firms and conduct risks in the General Insurance sector, or evidence to suggest an understanding of this

EssentialExperience of managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders Experience of summarising information received from firms - drawing out key points and presenting them clearly in writing Experience of leading meetings with firms and other external stakeholders You will be proactive and be able to work on your own initiative Being willing to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible pragmatic approach to your work A great team player integrating quickly into the Department Experience of supporting and mentoring more junior members of a team, assigning work and managing its completion Practical experience of prudential and conduct regulation
