Job Description

This is a new opportunity to join a Secondary Healthcare product team and become part of the User Centred Design community at Digital Health and Care Wales , where we're m aking digital a force for good in health and care .



As Senior Interaction Designer you will work out the best way to let users interact with services, in terms of both overall flow and at the level of individual design.



You will be a confident and competent designer who can develop designs based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes.



Putting the user at the heart of your design process, you will have the technical knowledge and experience to create, test and iterate prototype digital products (mobile & web) .



At this role level, you will be trusted to make good decisions and contribute to the development of design concepts, interpret evidence-based research, and incorporate this into your work.



Take a lead in the User-Centred Design Community of Practice and the development of others in your job family.



Approach prototyping as a team activity, actively soliciting prototypes, and testing with others. Establish design patterns and iterate them. Champion user research to focus on all users and make decisions to meet user needs in the context of NHS Wales.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) is an expert national body and part of NHS Wales. We work in partnership with NHS Wales colleagues and other key stakeholders to provide national digital and data services which support the delivery of health and social care in Wales. Modern health and care services depend on good digital tools, data and information. DHCW runs or works with more than 100 services and delivers major national digital transformation programmes to support this. In addition, DHCW provides expert advice in relation to cyber security and information governance. We give frontline staff the digital tools which help them provide safer and more efficient care. We are also giving patients and the public digital tools to better manage their own health and wellbeing, empowering people to live healthier lives.
