About the Role
This is a hybrid position within our Corporate Audit Team, working between home and our Head Office in Birmingham, with occasional travel to other sites.
We're looking for someone curious and ambitious to join us as a Senior Internal Auditor. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified auditor who's ready to take the next step in their career. You'll be responsible for leading and delivering audits across the Society and providing assurance over transformation projects in a rapidly changing environment.
Corporate Audit's mission is to be a trusted critical friend--adding value through assurance and consulting and leaving the business stronger than before.
What You'll Do
Lead and deliver risk-based internal audits in line with professional standards, our methodology and budget.
Engage with stakeholders across the business, building strong relationships and acting as a source of insight and challenge.
Prepare clear, impactful audit reports for senior management.
Identify opportunities for consultative work to support risk assessment and process development.
Follow up on recommendations and escalate concerns where necessary.
Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain your continuing professional development requirements.
Provide insight to shape the Audit Plan, including root cause analysis, horizon scanning and observations. Present your recommendation of proposed audits to the Head of Corporate Audit.
What We're Looking For
Internal audit experience (essential), ideally with exposure to change or transformation projects.
Regulated industry experience is desirable, but we welcome candidates from other sectors.
A curious, analytical mindset with strong decision-making skills.
Interest in AI, data analytics and innovation, and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIA, CIIA) or working towards one.
Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
