The Role



We are seeking an experienced

Internal Recruiter

to join our team. You will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and placing candidates for a variety of construction roles, including skilled tradespeople and professional staff such as site managers and engineers. This is a fast-paced role requiring a thorough understanding of the construction industry and its recruitment requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Source and attract candidates for blue-collar roles (e.g., carpenters, electricians, labourers) and white-collar roles (e.g., site managers, quantity surveyors, M&E engineers). Review CVs, conduct interviews, and assess candidates based on their qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role. Manage the full recruitment process, from creating job postings to negotiating offers. Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand the specific requirements of each project. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), freelance/self-employment rules, and CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) requirements. Verify candidates' qualifications (e.g., NVQs, HNC/HND, SMSTS, SSSTS, or trade-specific certifications) and right-to-work documentation. Utilise job boards, social media, and industry networks to develop a robust candidate pipeline. Conduct occasional site visits to meet clients and gain insight into project needs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our applicant tracking system (ATS).

About You



Proven experience as a recruiter within the construction sector. Strong understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), freelance, and self-employment regulations in the UK. Knowledge of CSCS cards and their importance for site safety and compliance. Familiarity with construction-related qualifications, such as NVQs, HNC/HND, SMSTS, SSSTS, or trade-specific certifications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with candidates and clients. Ability to work independently from home with strong organisational and time-management skills. Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits (a valid UK driving licence is preferred). Proficiency in recruitment platforms, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office. A proactive and results-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality recruitment outcomes.
