About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Investment Associate within the Investment Underwriting & Analysis team, with high?quality investment underwriting, business analytics, and investor reporting. This role will play a key part in supporting acquisitions to evaluate opportunities, shape deal structures, and ensure our investment decisions are built on robust analysis and accurate data.
The ideal candidate will combine strong financial and analytical capabilities with a collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute meaningfully within a dynamic and fast?paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
Review appraisal models for transactions requiring Investment Committee approval.
Support early-stage deal assessment by providing insight into deal structuring and associated modelling.
Conduct full reviews of sites prior to Exchange, ensuring accuracy of appraisal models and completeness of supporting documentation.
Maintain and enhance base investment model templates.
Update underwriting assumptions in line with new internal and external data points.
Provide training, mentoring, and support to junior team members within Acquisitions.
Perform business and financial analysis using Excel and other relevant tools, incorporating data from bespoke models and systems.
Review monthly and board-level reports, ensuring clarity, consistency, and data accuracy.
Produce research, analysis, and ad hoc reporting for senior leadership and investors.
Take a key role in reporting process improvements and related projects.
Analyse actual return performance versus original underwriting.
Re-underwrite legacy deals on an ad hoc basis to understand the impact of proposed contractual changes.
Work closely with internal teams to obtain accurate information required for investment analyses.
Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and partner companies.
Track and update the acquisition pipeline and produce site-specific bid books for Acquisition Committee meetings.
About you
Experience in real estate with an understanding of, or genuine interest in, the residential sector--particularly affordable housing.
Strong numerical and analytical capabilities, with a willingness to research and learn new skills.
Experience within Big 4 Transaction Services or similar (preferred).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong understanding of IRR, NPV, and other key return metrics.
Degree or equivalent in Finance or Real Estate (beneficial but not essential).
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong work ethic.
Coding, programming, data analysis, and/or financial or accounting experience are advantageous.
Proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute within a fast-evolving environment.
