We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Asset and Software Management Contractor to conduct a full "drains up" analysis of our current IT Asset & Software Management capability. This role will provide an independent and expert assessment of our current position, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
The contractor will work closely with the Head of Service Management as a trusted adviser ("critical friend"), shaping the forward-looking roadmap and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Additionally, the contractor will act as a mentor to the IT Asset Management Lead, providing guidance, knowledge transfer, and development support.
As a Senior IT Asset & Software Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of current IT Asset & Software Management practices, tools, and governance.
Identify areas of strength, gaps, and risks in the current capability.
Define and present a clear roadmap for improvement and maturity uplift.
Act as a strategic partner and "critical friend" to the Head of Service Management.
Mentor and coach the IT Asset Management Lead to strengthen in-house expertise.
Provide recommendations on policy, process, compliance, and tooling improvements.
Engage with senior stakeholders to ensure buy-in and alignment with organisational objectives.
