Job Description

IT Services is responsible for providing, developing, and maintaining the University's central IT infrastructure and for the delivery of a wide range of technology-based services to both staff and students.





We are now seeking a Senior IT/AV Support Officer, to provide technical support in the delivery of a responsive, customer focused 1st and 2nd line IT and AV support service in the Business School.



The role holder will be responsible for the 1st and 2nd line support of a wide range of end user technologies, audiovisual equipment, software applications and corporate systems as well as providing technical support for internal & external events and specialist teaching and research facilities.





This will include the management of Windows and Apple Mac operating systems, installation of both standardised and bespoke operating and audio-visual system builds, ongoing maintenance and fault finding, together with providing technical support for incidents and problems related to computers, audio visual and telephony equipment.





Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, key tasks will include:




Monitoring, responding, and resolving incidents and requests, that are logged in via the IT Services call management service, processing based on priority and urgency. Providing 1st and 2nd line support of a wide range of desktop, laptop, mobile, printing, audio-visual, media, and telephony technologies as well as standard software applications and corporate systems and services. Efficiently and effectively resolving various IT/AV incidents and service requests e.g., hardware /software queries and AV faults in teaching spaces within the school . Providing remote and in-person 2nd line support for IT/AV equipment and multimedia technologies in Learning and Teaching spaces, within the school, with a focus on a fast, efficient resolution and provision of technical support for internal & external events and specialist teaching facilities and providing filming and live streaming support services for School events and lectures. Working with the IT/AV Supervisor, participating in operational activities relating to the refresh of staff and student PCs and audio-visual technology and coordinating specific School projects as agreed by your line manager and the Operations Manager. Updating and contributing to the development of webpages and School intranet sites.




With an HNC or HND level in Information Technology, Audio Visual or related subject, you will have the necessary technical knowledge, understanding and communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and support to internal customers on the required technologies.





Experience delivering support in an IT/AV environment will be essential, together with first rate customer focus and initiative and good planning, organisational, analytical, and problem solving skills. Experience of working within a Higher Education environment will be an advantage.
