Team Overview:

The Rates KDB team is improving the architecture of the existing market and trade capture system, allowing it to scale to capture more data sets required by the business. Then to expand to taking responsibility for developing applications/analytics on-top of that data.

The team works as part of a wider cross asset KDB team with a common capture stack and a focus on solving problems to benefit multiple groups of users across business groups.

This is an opportunity to solve big data problems at terabyte scale while working closely with business stakeholders. The application runs on 50+ servers with 300+ data sets distributed globally, providing answers to over 600 users.

There is an emphasis on always improving our SDLC, automating repeatable work and developing software which is easy to support and will scale as the user base continues to expand.

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• Significant years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
• Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred

The successful applicant will work as a senior developer in the Rates KDB team and will be expected to:

• Gather requirements, propose and communicate solutions, ensure features are fully tested and follow up that the final product satisfies user needs
• Actively implement solutions when your expertise delivers the highest leverage
• Assist the junior members of the team in improving their own skills so they can be responsible for areas of the project
• Work with the KDB team leads to continuously improve the SDLC and experience for KDB developers at Citi
• Ensure the team is always working on the tasks which being most benefit to the users

Technical:

• Significant years experience working with KDB preferably in an enterprise wide tick capture system
• Interfacing KDB with other technologies
• JAVA or Python experience would be beneficial
