Senior Laravel Developer - Digital agency

This role is working remotely or in our offices Salisbury or London.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Laravel developer with strong PHP and frontend skills to join our friendly and dynamic team.

Moore-Wilson is one of the largest, fastest-moving, and dynamic B2B digital agencies in the Southwest, with offices in both Salisbury and Covent Garden (London). As a Web Developer, you will join a busy team of highly experienced and capable developers, working directly with our Project Managers, design team and clients to plan and develop high-profile websites and solutions. Our client base includes ABTA, UK Finance, The AIC, several NHS Trusts, and the British Society of Immunology, to name a few.

You will need to have a background in developing websites with 5+ years of commercial experience, ideally having worked within an agency environment.

The Role

As a Senior Laravel Developer, you'll play a key role in architecting, developing, and maintaining web applications. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and fellow developers to bring ideas to life, while mentoring junior team members and helping shape our technical direction.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of complex Laravel-based web applications Design scalable, maintainable, and secure application architecture Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices

Requirements

5+ years of professional PHP development experience 3+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel Strong knowledge of MVC architecture, RESTful APIs, and object-oriented programming Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js or React) Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB) Familiarity with version control systems (Git) Solid understanding of application security and performance optimisation Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of testing frameworks PHP Unit or other testing framework Experience working in an agency environment or on multiple concurrent projects Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum methodologies
This position can be either remote, hybrid or office based (Salisbury or London). If remote, you may be required to be in the office very occasionally.

NB. You have to be based in the UK for this role - we cannot accept applications from outside of the UK but we are happy for people to work remotely.
