We are pleased to introduce and to be recruiting for this newly created position within our award-winning People team!


We are looking for an experienced Senior Learning & Development Lead to help shape the future of learning at Gentoo. As a key part of our forward-focused People, Culture & Engagement department, you will lead innovative L&D programmes, foster employee engagement, and support development--all in alignment with our social purpose.


As a strategic and purpose-driven Senior Learning & Development Lead, you will shape and deliver an impactful agenda aligned with the Group's goals and social purpose. You will drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions that support a diverse range of needs--from operational learning and colleague growth to management capability and customer service excellence across the Group.


We believe in the power of collaboration and flexibility, so you can expect to be based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office and to spend time in the office and elsewhere. The use of our office space is driven in part by your ole and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work.

The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Lead the development, delivering and continual improvement of high impact Learning & OD programmes that drive forward our People Strategy, engagement, inclusion and organisational goals.


Deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions that add measurable value to individual, team and organisational performance.


Horizon scan for future workforce trends and proactively develop L&D responses that future proof capability across the Group.


Support Heads of and SLT in operations to have meaningful workforce development plans are aligned with operational goals and customer needs.


Champion a culture of continuous learning and growth across the organisation.

We are looking for you to bring:

Highly developed expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and digital learning platforms.


Demonstrable record leading impactful L&D or OD projects.


Highly developed understanding of organisational change and how L&D can support transformation.


Demonstrable experience collaborating with operational leaders, particularly in customer focused sectors.


Proven experience in delivering impactful L&D projects.


Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insight with effective report writing and dashboards.


Excellent communication, facilitation, and analytical skills.

Desirable:

Level 5 CIPD (or equivalent) in Learning & Development is highly desirable.


Experience and knowledge of learning requirements in social housing, social care, or the public sector.
