The University of Chester is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic academic to join our School of Education as a Senior Lecturer in Educational Leadership. This part-time, fixed-term role offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and expanding portfolio of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes designed to support professionals across the education sector. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, leading curriculum development, and engaging in research and scholarly activity that informs practice and policy in educational leadership.


Working within the Childhood, Education and Professional Development (CEPD) division, you will be part of a team that is committed to preparing students for impactful careers in education. The School of Education has a long-standing reputation for excellence in Initial Teacher Education and professional development, with strong partnerships across schools, local authorities, and international settings. Our flexible learning pathways, including evening and weekend delivery and online options, are designed to meet the needs of working professionals. Key Responsibilities

:

Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, and tutorials. Lead modules and contribute to course leadership, ensuring effective coordination and student support. Design and develop curriculum content and teaching materials, ensuring alignment with university standards. Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and support academic development. Supervise student projects and research across various levels. Engage in scholarly activity, including research, publication, and conference presentations. Contribute to curriculum innovation and continuous improvement through feedback and reflection. Participate in peer review and quality assurance processes. Build and maintain external networks to support recruitment, outreach, and collaboration. Support colleagues through mentoring and contribute to strategic course development. Promote inclusive and flexible learning, including evening, weekend, and online delivery. Uphold university policies on equality, safeguarding, sustainability, and data protection.

Essential Qualifications

:

Undergraduate honours degree (minimum 2:1) in a relevant discipline Master's level qualification in a cognate field (applicants nearing completion will be considered) PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or Fellowship of the HEA (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe)
