We seek to appoint a Senior Lecturer FMSPW to join the Further Mathematics Support Programme Wales led by Dr Sofya Lyakhova. The Further Mathematics Programme Wales (FMSPW) is an ambitious national programme funded by the Welsh Government and driven by the Department of Mathematics in Swansea University. The aim of the FMSPW is to increase the number of students in Wales studying GCE AS/A-level Further Mathematics by offering a range of support to schools, teachers and students. The programme started as a pilot in 2010 and has became pan-Wales in 2016.

The successful candidates will have expertise in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics teaching and will hold a teaching qualification. The post holder will be undertaking the role of the FMSPW Area Coordinator in EAS and will work from Cardiff University. They will act as a regional co-lead of FMSPW activities in South East Wales (EAS) and work alongside the team of the Area Coordinators across ERW, GWE and CSC in Wales. Each FMSPW Area Coordinator is expected to lead on one of the following strands for the whole Programme - Tuition and Student Support, STEP and Additional Papers support, Enrichment post-16 and Enrichment pre-16, Girls\' Participation in Further Mathematics and Diversity and Inclusivity, Teaching and Learning Resource Development, and Research and Innovation, Professional learning. Other strands may be added as project evolves. It is planned that the vacant post in Cardiff will lead on Girls Participation in Further Mathematics and Diversity and Inclusivity strand for the whole programme, but other strands may be considered depending on the expertise of the candidate. Experience of using technology in mathematics teaching and learning, e.g., Geogebra, Desmos and others is desirable.

The appointed postholder will be embedded into a vibrant and dynamic environment with the capacity to interact with other Area Coordinators and teachers and students across Wales. As all FMSPW activities are research-led and practice-driven, the successful applicant should be able to bring their background into their teaching to enhance students\' and teachers\' experience in Wales.
