Job Purpose:
The post will be based at the University's Derry/Londonderry campus and offers an opportunity to join a highly successful Law School, with a strong teaching culture, a growing international and comparative profile, and an extraordinary record of success in research (REF) assessment.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a 2:1 degree in Law, or cognate discipline provided they also hold a higher degree with Law as a significant component. A Ph.D. in a law-related field is also required.
The School has an excellent research reputation in relation to Gender, Human Rights and International Law, Transitional Justice, Access to Justice, Social Security, and is seeking to expand research and teaching in the area of Medical Law and Ethics. Applications are sought from candidates who have an established research profile and teaching experience in areas such as healthcare regulation, bioethics, medical negligence, and the legal and ethical dimensions of emerging medical technologies.
Applicants for this post should evidence a forthcoming portfolio of scholarly publications and demonstrate evidence of capacity to publish research that would be considered 'internationally excellent' three-star research (as defined by REF 2021).
We may create a 12-month waiting list for same or similar roles within the Department / Faculty. The University reserves the right to extend the waiting list across the University if required for certain posts.
