As Liquidity Risk & RRP Manager you will support the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of Aldermore's Treasury risk management, including developing a good understanding of our balance sheet, and associated risk frameworks (Capital, Liquidity and ALM).
Specifically, the role is critical in the effective identification, management and control of all liquidity and funding risks across the group. inclusive of evolving the ILAAP, development of the annual Funding Plan, and supporting BAU activity such as internal and regulatory reporting and regular liquidity forecasting. You will also be required to support the ongoing maintenance and evolution of all Recovery and Resolution Planning activity required by the group.
What will your day look like?
Supporting / leading on delivery of the ILAAP document.
Applying risk appetite, maintaining the L&F policy and implementing and monitoring an effective limits and control framework for L&F risk across the group.
Documenting and reviewing the interpretation of new and existing regulatory interpretations, and how they might impact our existing L&F and RRP frameworks
Contributing to an effective horizon scanning capability for regulatory developments that may impact L&F risk or RRP, to ensure we continue to remain compliant with all existing and new regulation
Participating in the New Product Approval process to ensure any new L&F or RRP risks are identified and understood at source.
Supporting / leading delivery of the annual Funding Plan and intra-year updates.
Collaborating with FP&A to support Treasury's contribution to the planning and outlook process, and identifying potential funding gaps and proposals for actions required to address them.
Risk Responsibilities:
Identifying, managing and supervising risk within defined risk appetite metrics and risk frameworks;
Ensuring there are appropriate controls in place to manage and mitigate risk - balancing customer service and competitive positioning with those controls;
Living the bank's culture and risk culture - encouraging balanced risk decisions in all activities and requiring compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations; and
Ensure all mandatory training is completed within the required timeframes for your respective business line.
What do we expect from you?
Experienced in at least one area of L&F Risk, Capital or RRP.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with ability to communicate clear asks from sometimes very complex or ambiguous regulation.
Excellent time management, and planning capabilities, and able to appropriately prioritise multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines
Strong excel, word and powerpoint skills.
Knowledge of or some prior experience of developing an ILAAP or Recovery Plan
Must have experience with UK retail banking and understand the broad framework of regulatory capital and liquidity within the BIPRU, EBA / CRD IV, Basel II and III, as well as the recovery and resolution regulatory framework.
Good knowledge and proven track record of effective design and implementation of liquidity risk management and stress testing, as well as applicable regulation and reporting requirements.
