Sopher + Co is looking for a

Senior Management Accountant

to join our growing

Audit and Accounts

team based in the

Borehamwood office.

As part of the role, you will be supporting the Business Services Manager, and you will prepare management accounts for a portfolio of clients from core records. Assist with any work required by clients or managers. It offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise in management accounting while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts, providing analysis and designated reports Bookkeeping and VAT reporting to a high standard and maintaining client records for referral where needed Month/Quarter end adjustments and reconciliations Providing support to junior members of staff including training where required Work as part of a team and when required Prepare ad hoc reports for clients Perform payment runs Supervision of junior members of staff, including reviewing the work and providing feedback to assist in training and development Mentor, train and assist team members to maximise their performance Maintain client files and documentation in accordance with Sopher + Co standards Keep abreast of developments in accounting, taxation and relevant computer software Maintaining client confidentiality at all times in accordance with Sopher + Co HR Policies & Procedures

About you





We'll need you to have excellent time management, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, self-motivated approach. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with great attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.



You will also have/be:



Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a professional services firm. AAT/ACA/ACCA (Preferred but not essential) Intermediate bookkeeping skills, including producing monthly management accounts and preparing prepayments, accruals, depreciation, accrued income, and deferred income. Proficiency in CCH, Xero and SageLine 50 Advanced Excel Skills and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for ideas, suggestions and improvements Outstanding time management skills and ability to prioritise work Flexibility and adaptability
