Sopher + Co is looking for a

Senior Management Accountant

to join our growing Accounts team based in the Borehamwood office. In this role, you will prepare management accounts, provide financial analysis, and support a portfolio of clients. You will also mentor and train junior staff, ensuring high-quality work and promoting continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical accounting expertise while working with a diverse client base, including exposure to the music and entertainment industry.

Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, including analysis and designated reports for clients Bookkeeping and VAT reporting to a high standard, maintaining client records Take ownership of year-end accounts preparation, ensuring accuracy before passing to the finalisation team Month/quarter-end adjustments and reconciliations Provide support, mentorship, and training to junior team members Prepare ad hoc client reports and assist with payment runs as required Supervise junior staff, review work, and provide constructive feedback Maintain client files and documentation in accordance with Sopher + Co standards Keep abreast of developments in accounting, taxation, and relevant software Maintain client confidentiality at all times

About You





We'll need you to have excellent time management, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, self-motivated approach. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with great attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.


You will also have:

Previous experience in a similar role within a professional services environment Strong bookkeeping background, including preparation of monthly management accounts (prepayments, accruals, depreciation, accrued and deferred income) Experience in a music-industry setting, such as finance, business management, touring finance, or artist management Proficiency with CCH, Xero, and Sage Line 50; familiarity with CaseWare is a plus Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills AAT/ACA/ACCA qualification preferred but not essential Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to support team development
