We are recruiting a Senior Management Accountant to join our Esher-based Healix International Finance team on a 9-month Fixed-term contract basis.

POSITION OVERVIEW




The purpose of the role is to prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, presenting clear financial insights to senior management and departmental heads to inform strategic decision-making. The role is responsible for managing and mentoring two Accounts Payable Controllers and assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE



Prior experience:

4+ years' experience in management accounts or a general accounting role.

Technical acumen and knowledge:

thorough understanding of currencies and foreign exchange; strong numerical abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Tools proficiency:

proficiency in using Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Communication skills

: excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Management skills:

the ability to lead and mentor a team; the ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple projects within a dynamic environment.


Successful application of these skills and the ability to deliver sustainably against agreed objectives, KPIs or other performance metrics.

About The Role



KEY ACTIVITIES/MAIN DUTIES




This position denotes the following essential responsibilities and deliverables:

Raise sales invoices and process associated journals to ensure accurate income recognition. Assist with posting and reconciling transactions in the trading bank account. Complete GST returns for multiple entities accurately and on schedule. Post and reconcile the monthly payroll. Assist with management of bank accounts to ensure enough cash to cover financial obligations. Post all required month-end adjustments and oversee key elements of the month-end process, including balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare monthly management accounts aligned with project, business unit, and departmental structures. Analyse financial performance and support long-term forecasting to inform strategic decision-making. Reconcile actual spending against budgets and present monthly business reports to relevant Heads of Department. Assist with preparation of reforecasts and budgets. Credit control - send out monthly account statements and chase late payments of invoices. Resolve queries from customers and medical providers in a timely and professional manner. Liaise with external accountants and tax advisors as required to support compliance and reporting. Support the annual financial audit process by liaising with external accountants and providing any necessary documentation. Review and continuously improve accounting practices and processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Enforce accounting process disciplines and manage responsibilities to meet strict deadlines. Maintain an accurate and well-organised filing system for financial records. Collaborate closely with both finance and non-finance colleagues to support cross-functional initiatives. Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the line manager or senior finance leadership. Manage, coach and develop the Accounts Payable Controllers to ensure high performance, engagement, and professional growth. Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team, conducting regular reviews and providing constructive feedback.
