Senior Management Accountant, Full - time, Wythall, Birmingham

Salary: Depending on Experience

Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Healthcare Management Solutions (HCMS) provides Care Home Owners, Operators, Investors, Banks and Insolvency Practitioners with a one-stop solution to the care home sector. From our dedicated Head Office we operate a team of Regional Managers, Consultants and Support Professionals.

About the Role



We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Senior Management Accountant

to join our Finance team. This is a pivotal role that not only oversees the production of high-quality, timely, and auditable management accounts but also plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial strategy.

You will be managing a Management Accountant, maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients, and ensuring all aspects of the finance function operate smoothly and efficiently.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong leadership and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities



Preparation of monthly management accounts, KPIs, and client board reports Manage and develop the Management Accountant Cash flow forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash management Budgeting and forecasting to agreed deadlines Liaise with auditors and support the production of statutory accounts Oversee payroll coordination and communication with HMRC and third-party providers Ensure accurate and timely processing of treasury-related tasks Client relationship management, including participation in client meetings Raise and approve bank payments, ensuring accurate bank reconciliations Support the setup of new homes and handle financial transitions on sale or closure Collaborate with Operations teams to identify and act on financial risks or opportunities Provide ad-hoc reporting and assist other finance and HCMS teams as needed

What We're Looking For



Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience in a management accounting or similar finance role Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Experience managing or mentoring finance staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confident in liaising with external stakeholders and senior management Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
