Job Description

We're working with a globally recognised publishing business renowned for its award-winning catalogue of children's literature and its commitment to creativity, storytelling, and educational impact.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong experience in month-end reporting and auditing, as well as the ability to manage junior staff and liaise effectively with senior stakeholders.
Please note: our client will only consider candidates who are immediately available, or on a short notice period of 4 weeks or less.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting alongside the Head of Finance
• Lead the production of annual statutory accounts and manage year-end and interim audits
• Manage and support junior finance team members, including AP and a Junior Management Accountant
• Review intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and corporate credit card expenses
• Drive process improvements and assist in finance systems development

Key Requirements:

• Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with statutory accounts
• Confident with financial systems and Excel (knowledge of publishing/creative industries a bonus)
• Experience managing junior team members
• Available on short notice (0-4 weeks ideally)
