As the Senior management Accountant, you will support the group finance manager by overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, process improvements, and audit support to ensure accurate financial management and development of strong business partnerships.
What you'll do:
Support the group finance manager with the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial information for month end.
Line manager for the assistant accountant - ensure that they are engaged and meeting or exceeding their goals and performance targets.
Business Partner with a number of budget holders within Skanska UK, providing expert financial knowledge and scrutiny of financial information; whilst building and maintaining strong, credible relationships with the budget holders.
Supporting of the preparation and coordination of the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting cycle including reporting into HFM
Produce, review and challenge financial performance on S&A, including forecasting and provide variance analysis.
Integration of the reporting, budgeting of forecasting of legacy Operating Units into the central finance function.
Ensure compliance of Skanska internal and international accounting financial policies and processes.
Identify and drive improvements in processes and systems, identifying and mitigating risk.
Completion and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, undertaking further review to minimise risks and maximise opportunities
Support the external audit process and liaising with audit teams as necessary
Participate and actively contribute to functional system and process improvement initiatives
Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as required by Group finance manager.
What you'll bring to the role:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Demonstrable experience of business partnering
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including working knowledge of formulae.
Excellent knowledge of accounting computer systems (Oracle Fusion, and HFM)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly motivated, self-starter, and committed individual with a track record of delivering high quality finance outputs.
