As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Manager or Associate Director to lead our Electrical Design Engineering function. This role blends deep technical knowledge with strategic leadership and commercial oversight.

Role Overview

This is a key leadership role with responsibility for managing and developing the electrical engineering department. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects, provide expert technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure the highest standards of delivery and client satisfaction. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Project Leadership

Lead and oversee electrical engineering services across a variety of commercial and residential projects.



Act as the technical authority and key client liaison throughout the project lifecycle.



Provide strategic input into business development, proposals, and company direction.



Design Oversight & Compliance

Develop and review electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.



Ensure all designs are fully compliant with UK regulations and best practice (e.g. IET Wiring Regulations, CDM, CIBSE, BSRIA).



Produce and review schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other tools.



Conduct site surveys, evaluate existing systems, and produce detailed technical reports and schematics.



Design and integrate systems such as lighting, fire alarms, CCTV, and telecoms.



Team Management & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the electrical design team, promoting a high-performance culture.



Provide structured support and technical oversight to junior engineers and project staff.



Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers and design teams to ensure seamless project delivery.



Commercial & Delivery Oversight

Manage project scopes, budgets, and resources efficiently.



Monitor progress, ensure profitability, and align delivery with productivity and invoicing targets.



Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Present technical solutions and reports confidently to clients and stakeholders.



Foster strong relationships with clients, developers, architects, contractors, and consultants.



Support business development initiatives and contribute to company growth strategy.



Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Master's preferred).



Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IET (or equivalent).



Minimum 12-15 years' experience in building services, with at least 5 years in a senior/associate leadership role.



Strong technical background in electrical systems within the UK construction landscape.



Demonstrable experience managing teams and delivering complex projects.



Skills & Attributes
