We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager - Base Operations to join Marshall in a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of Operations UK.
The purpose of the role is to provide Operational leadership, delivery management and functional expertise to maximise productivity and customer delivery within the MRO environment.
Responsibilities include:
Driving compliance with regulatory standards throughout operations and ensuring the availability of suitably trained resources, empowering the delivery teamsA with all theA necessary elements to consistently achieve delivery targets in an effective and safe manner.
Supporting the Head of Operations UK and enabling the MRO delivery organisation to deliver up to 8 lines of maintenance to schedule and cost.
Accountability for Regulatory Compliance, and Point of Contact for Safety, Quality and Environmental matters across multiple/regionally designated hangar facilities.
Supporting the drive to maximise financial delivery by developing efficiencies in all aspects of MRO activity.
Responsibility for coordinating S&OP to ensure a fully enabled resource plan is in place to support the planned maintenance schedule.
Accountability for operational delivery on time, to budget and to the required safety and quality standards within the various hangars.
Accountability for the effective closure and response to all non-compliances identified by internal and external audits.
Driving Continuous Improvement, Change, Growth and Management initiatives across the hangars.
Leading a team of MRO hangar-based Mechanics, Integrated project teams and support functions, involved in direct productivity (150+ staff per MRO Base Operations Manager).
Supporting the Head of Operations (UK) generally and specifically:
Deputise for the Head of MRO Operations (UK) Pt 145 Form4 (F4) holder in the position of MRO Base Operations Manager.
Be accountable for the MRO Delivery Managers ensuring maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company procedures.
Be accountable for ensuring that we maximise the use of our workforce across the base maintenance hangars, ensuring minimum out of work time, and keeping overtime to the minimum required to meet the operation.
Be accountable and manage the contractor labour required to meet delivery targets (time & cost). This will include managing the take on and exit of contract labour as required to meet the peaks and troughs of activity.
Working with the Head of Operations (UK) to:
Be accountable for the delivery of major, global MRO projects (Marshall USA mobilisation, move away from Cambridge, etc).A
Be accountable for and manage the Continuous Improvement program to deliver cultural change and competitive advantage through facility layout, equipment and technology.
Maintain and improve maintenance standards within the MRO.
Lead on and drive improvements to maintenance support activities within the MRO in support of production.
Lead on and drive, standardisation, streamlining and digitisation of MRO processes and procedures wherever possible.
Be accountable for ensuring all regulatory non-conformances and safety events within the MRO are managed to closure in line with agreed timescales.
Primary POC for all facility matters within the MRO.
General line management of direct reports and embedded staff including object setting and performance reviews (in conjunction with their functional manager where required)

Previous experience at a senior level in an Aerospace/ MRO organisation
Proven change management experienceA
Experience and detailed knowledge of Aerospace MRO environment ideally holding a Form 4 post.
Continuous improvement knowledge - lean manufacturing techniques.
In depth understanding of Regulation in Pt 145 organisations and relationship to Airworthiness
Leading a team with a proven track record of the ability to influence internal/external stakeholders.
Proven commitment to delivering excellence.
Risk management in a dynamic environment.
Quality Management and Control systems.
Aerospace AS9100, AS9110 and UK MRP Part 145/EMAR Standards and Environments,
Sound knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation requirements, in particular Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
Good influence and stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate and reach mutually beneficial agreement with leadership in department or function, across operational delivery areas, and in partner organisations.
Competent and confident individual with commercial acumen, extensive experience within Operations, manufacturing engineering and change management principles.
Experience of MRP system implementation.
Proven ability to work on multiple projects in parallel with outstanding organisational and planning acumen.
Ability to manage the delivery of operational outputs in a way that is most beneficial to business objectives and customer requirements. aEUR<
Technical Competencies:
Good knowledge of 145 regulations, and proven experience applying the regulations
Extensive experience in base maintenance operational delivery roles
Management and development of people.A Able to interact effectively with all levels of staff both internally & externally, including direct customers and end users. Able to coordinate and bring together multiple activities from within the business and externally to meet customer requirements.
Appreciation of the application of LEAN tools and methodology, such as 5S, Kaizen, 8D, DMAIC, PDCA.
Good written and verbal communication to clearly express views and ideas. Proficiency at generating reports and delivering presentations to customer to provide a full and holistic overview of budgets and maintenance activities on related equipment and tasks.
Ability to work and self-motivate under pressure.
Initiative and judgement to provide a customer-orientated service to internal and external stakeholders.
Use of computer packages e.g.A Microsoft Office and other business systems.
Certification:
Ability to hold MAA Form 4
Degree or equivalent experience
