The Campus Leader manages multiple IBX sites which are the critical source of value to customers, and ultimately revenue generation; advancing Platform priorities and maximizing revenue and margin through effective application of company resources. Sets direction, anticipates change and adapts to ambiguity for all IBXs within campus to perform to Company and Customer expectation, including financial, Customer service SLAs, inspiration, development and safety of EQIX people. Collaborates with regional or global support teams related to project management and incident resolution. \xe2\x80\x8bThe campus leader is responsible for maintaining adequate staffing to efficiently operate and maintain the facilities.\xe2\x80\x8b

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

Manages teams of IBX leaders responsible for the 24/7 operational oversite and direction of campuses encompassing both technical and engineering disciplines.

Communicates importance of working safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance.

Provides strategic guidance and direction to deliver EQIX priorities including SLA, Commit compliance, campus capacity management and IBX availability.

Forecasts operational training needs, development plans, and secures resources for deploying training to address those needs.

Inspires and operates high-performing team that is fully engaged and meets its goals and performs with accountability.

Infrastructure Management

Accountable for budget adherence, resource allocation and drives successful implementation of maintenance initiatives across campuses.

Oversees vendor qualifications for inclusion into campus projects/activities.

Works cross-functionally with Equinix Engineering and Construction groups assisting with the design and implementation of data center builds and augments.

Collaborates with leaders on broad-scale Regional and Global projects that have an impact on the business, working with cross-functional teams, including Business Partners (Finance, IT, P&L) and general contractors (e.g., looking at bigger bids ,projects with higher visibility, greater spend).

Budgeting/Financial Management

Successfully manage the CAPEX and OPEX budgets.

Establishes and manages budget for own team or area of responsibility.

Assists in drafting proposals for datacenter infrastructure improvements which require capital expenditure approval.

Vendor & Incident Management

Manages the teams to ensure completion to Equinix\'s required standards, KPI\'s and SLA\xe2\x80\x99s.

Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during complex or severe customer-impacting incidents.

Drives root cause analysis and provides a clear direction.

Makes recommendations for incident resolution and applies company resources to advance Platform EQIX.

Operations Strategy

Encompasses support for company\'s strategic direction within IBX systems, policies, and procedures.

Provides collaborative relationships with customers, and customer support teams.

Provides routine status reports on Datacenter performance.

Drives accountability, consistency and effectiveness (ACE) across IBX campuses.

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

Exceptional leader relevant experience in data center operations or other mission-critical facilities.

Proven track record for taking ownership and delivering results in a fast paced and demanding environment.

Experienced with budget management (headcount, capital, and expense management).

Critical operations experience required with a strong understanding of communications and mechanical/electrical systems.

Well versed in the complexities of the design and construction processes, from master planning to construction administration.

Deep understanding of design documents, contracts, and technical information.

Demonstrated experience managing campus level requirements and making targeted recommendations.

Skills & Attributes

Inspires, mentors and develops IBX leaders and diverse teams.

Ability to effectively communicate the big picture to influence and motivate the team.
