About this role
As an International Tax and Transfer Pricing Senior Manager at Tate and Lyle, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company's international tax strategy and transfer pricing policies. This role involves ensuring compliance with global tax regulations, minimizing tax risks, and providing strategic tax planning to support the company's international operations. You will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement effective transfer pricing strategies and ensure that all intercompany transactions are conducted at arm's length. This role leads one or more teams within a tax or treasury discipline, and involves leading tax planning initiatives or practices to support the strategic financial objectives of the Tax & Treasury.
Accountabilities:

  • Managing the approach to working with advisers on international tax and transfer pricing matters, in line with TL strategy
  • Management of the groups approach to transfer pricing, including policy development and implementation, operational transfer pricing, oversight of global transfer pricing documentation (Master and Local Files) and disputes/enquiries.
  • Develop strategy for use of technology for TP processes
  • Overseeing the efficient completion, on a timely and accurate basis, of the non-UK direct tax and related filings including managing the relationship with a compliance service provider(s) and overseeing management of tax disputes outside of the UK
  • Provision of technical advice to the business on the tax implications of cross border transactions, M&A, restructuring, new markets or new products and supporting the Head of Tax with strategic projects
  • Overseeing the reginal tax managers, supporting them in their responsibilities for tax matters in their regions and providing advice to the business.
  • Work with the business to understand and support business initiatives, associated tax impact and implement any changes
  • Ensure changes in tax laws, treaties and compliance obligations are assessed and impact on TL addressed
  • Identify potential tax risks and cash saving opportunities and lead initiatives to manage risks/realise opportunities
Skills and Experience Required:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in tax reporting and governance, preferably within a multinational corporation or a Big Four accounting firm.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of international tax laws and regulations, including transfer pricing, BEPS and OECD guidelines
  • An understanding of the global business environment and the ability to navigate complex international tax issues.
  • -Advanced understanding of the policies, objectives, operations and related activities within a Tax Function, and expert knowledge in tax disciplines.
  • -Advanced communication skills to persuade and influence stakeholders. The role needs to adapt styles, interpret and explain information to different audiences inside and outside the organisation who are not familiar with the subject matter.
  • -Lead one or more teams of Tax professionals within a discipline. Accountable for establishing and meeting team targets, delegating work and managing resources including line management duties and budgeting.
  • -Oversee the resolution of complex or unusual issues, utilising original thought or unique approaches and sophisticated analytical techniques to guide the development of sub-regional processes.
  • -Proven ability to significantly influence outcomes through effective decision-making for assigned teams.
  • -Able to direct the application of existing principles and provide insights to senior management about the development of new policies, ideas and approaches.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing a team of tax professionals.
