Job Summary:

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead the day-to-day delivery of the Marketing function, ensuring objectives are met, projects are progressed, and all teams within Marketing work effectively together. They will work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop a robust marketing strategy aligned with business goals and ensure the structure, processes, and resources are in place to deliver it.


The role requires a commercially minded, highly organised leader with strong communication skills who can motivate diverse teams, drive performance, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Some travel will be required for customer visits and events.

About The Role



Responsibilities:

The following list constitutes the key tasks and duties of your post upon which your job performance will be assessed. Tasks are not in any particular order, therefore the sequence which they appear should not be interpreted as indicating priority or relative importance.

Operational leadership



Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Marketing Department, ensuring all projects and campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Manage workflow, priorities, and resources across the team to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Act as the main point of contact for cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring Marketing is responsive and solutions-focused. Monitor and report on marketing activity performance, making recommendations for improvement.

Team management



Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Marketing Managers, Executives, and Specialists across all functions (Brand, Digital, Customer, Content, Social and Video). Support a collaborative, high-performance culture where accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement are encouraged. Support the Head of Marketing in developing team capability through training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure the team structure and skill set remain fit for purpose as the business grows.

Strategic alignment



Work with the Head of Marketing to translate high-level marketing strategy into clear operational plans. Ensure all marketing activity is aligned to business priorities, sales objectives, and brand positioning. Contribute to annual marketing planning, budget setting, and forecasting. Use market and customer insight to shape marketing initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.

Collaboration & stakeholder engagement



Build strong working relationships with Sales, Product Development, Technical, Health & Safety, HR, and Senior Leadership teams to ensure marketing activity supports business needs. Attend customer visits and events to represent the business and gather market intelligence. Manage agency and supplier relationships to ensure value for money and quality delivery. Deliver presentations to the Senior Leadership Team, Sales and any other relevant departments to communicate marketing activity and performance.

General



Carry out any additional responsibilities as determined by the Head of Marketing to support the department's and company's goals. Be willing to work flexibly, including occasional travel and overnight stays. Carry out tasks as required and deemed within your competence by your manager.

Required Criteria



+ A 3rd level qualification in Business, or Marketing or relevant subject. + Proven experience in a senior marketing role
+ Previous experience managing multiple teams and projects
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop individuals and teams
+ Proven experience creating and delivering marketing strategies aligned with business goals
+ Evidence of commercial acumen and working within a business that has experienced clear growth
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans
o Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop individuals and teams. o Exceptional organisational and project management abilities o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels o Commercially astute with a clear understanding of how marketing drives business growth + Comfortable working at pace and adapting to changing priorities + Be willing to work flexibly, including occasional travel and overnight stays

Desired Criteria



+ CIM qualification or equivalent. o Experience of marketing gained in the construction, manufacturing, or building materials sector o Experience managing external agencies and suppliers + Knowledge of B2B and B2C marketing channels
