Senior M&e Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Primech Building Services is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor. In this role, you will oversee complex M&E projects, ensuring effective cost management and compliance with industry standards. You will be responsible for mentoring junior surveyors, managing client relationships, and providing strategic insights to enhance project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead the quantity surveying process for M&E projects from initial feasibility studies to final account agreements. Prepare and manage detailed cost plans, estimates, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee the preparation of tender documentation, including bills of quantities and specifications, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project success. Review and approve interim valuations, ensuring that all claims are justified and within budget. Provide coaching and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors, fostering their professional growth and development. Prepare regular reports on project performance, financial forecasts, and compliance to senior management and clients. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices throughout all project phases.

Requirements



Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related field, with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS). Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong focus on mechanical and electrical projects. Proven track record in managing SME-scale M&E contracts and teams. In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and financial management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound judgments. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. Leadership capabilities, with experience mentoring and developing junior team members. Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Full UK driving license, as site visits and client meetings will be required.
